Clinical Supervision for Psychotherapists and Counsellors

Alongside my clinical work, I supervise psychotherapists and counsellors, individually and in small groups. In person in Woollahra, Sydney, and online across Australia.

I am a PACFA Accredited Supervisor and a Clinical Lecturer in the Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy Program at the University of Sydney, where I also supervise.

How I supervise

My approach to supervision is grounded in psychodynamic, somatic, and attachment-based principles. Together, we explore clinical material and notice what happens in your body and nervous system as you sit with your clients and reflect on your work.

We pay attention to your relational and somatic patterns and to how these shape your presence as a therapist. Your responses to a client’s story can offer valuable information, helping us understand what is happening within you and within the therapeutic relationship.

My work draws on the Conversational Model of psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing®, the Adult Attachment Interview, EMDR, Brainspotting, and Deep Brain Reorienting. You do not need training in any of these approaches to work with me.

Individual supervision

I offer individual supervision tailored to your practice and where you are in your professional journey. Sessions run for 50 minutes and cost $210; available online or in person.

Together, we explore your work with clients, including transference, countertransference and the clinical challenges that arise. It is also a space to reflect on your professional development and the direction you would like your career to take, within a confidential and supportive relationship.

Therapists usually attend fortnightly or monthly, depending on their caseload and professional body requirements.

Some of my most valuable learning has come through my own supervision, supported by inspiring and skilled clinicians. I aim to offer that same spirit of curiosity, encouragement and thoughtful reflection in my work with you.

Group supervision

These small group supervision spaces are created as a place to think, feel and reflect together, not just about the work but about how we are in the work. With a maximum of four for the ongoing groups and six participants for the occasional one-off groups. The groups are intentionally kept small to allow for depth, safety and genuine connection.

This is a space where uncertainty can be brought in, clinical questions can unfold over time, and your experience as a therapist is welcomed as part of the process rather than something to be set aside.

The group runs as part of PACFA’s low-cost supervision initiative, which sets a reduced rate for Accredited Supervisors offering group work.

Who I supervise

I welcome students, newly qualified practitioners and experienced therapists, working across a broad range of client groups and clinical presentations. Supervision is tailored to your experience, your practice and the questions you bring.

I work with practitioners who belong to PACFA and ANZAP. If you are an ACA member, please check directly with ACA before we begin to confirm whether supervision with me will meet your requirements.

Does this count toward my supervision hours?

PACFA registrants must complete 10 hours of formal supervision a year, or 15 hours where client contact exceeds 400 hours. Individual and small group supervision both count, with a small group defined as six supervisees or fewer, so a group of four sits comfortably inside that.

ANZAP and ACA members should check their own association’s requirements, including who it recognises as a supervisor. Requirements change, and the current PACFA standards are published on the PACFA CPD and Supervision Requirements page.

My background as a supervisor

I have worked in mental health for more than twenty years, including six years at South Pacific Private, four of them as a family therapist and later as its Program Director. I am a Clinical Lecturer in the Trauma Informed Psychotherapy Program at the University of Sydney.

I am a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and an international Somatic Experiencing training assistant, a certified coder of the Adult Attachment Interview through the University of California, Berkeley, and trained in EMDR Levels I and II, Brainspotting Levels I and II, and Deep Brain Reorienting.

I am a PACFA Accredited Supervisor, a Clinical Member of PACFA and of ANZAP, and a registrant on the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
