Dear Brave Friends,
I am sending you this nice warming image in this ‘cold winter’ morning. I am originally from Hungary so I still feel spoiled by our beautiful winter here in Sydney 🙂
The quote on the picture is from a book I read recently: The Examined Life, by Stephen Grosz.
Such a beautiful book, providing insight to how and why therapy works. I find that people get inpatient in therapy if their problem doesn’t have a solution or their life can’t be ‘fixed’ quickly. This book gives a lovely insight to that the ‘cure’ is in the therapeutic relationship. Unfortunately our system that offers 10 sessions on Medicare for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Mindfulness really supports the ‘let’s get fixed’ idea. Examining our life and developing our sense of self with compassion and love takes time and effort. I believe that without a solid sense of self it is very difficult to be in functional relationship or feel fulfilled in our life.
If you have a chance and interested in therapeutic stories, I really recommend this book.
If you are interested in discovering more about yourself and your story come and check out one of the workshops coming up:
